My World
Do you see it?
Here’s my world.
Narrowed down into this place.
Here inside my space.
How can you lead me from here?
Guide me up the craggy sides?
Not my love of the idea of love,
Nor my longing for the bright lives bursting around me.
Our hearts beating the same rhythm
Falling into isolation,
Beneath the twisting of a rushing lonely river,
Touched only by the sound.
Because you can’t fly back up the canyon,
after you’ve already fallen down.
