The Day That All Gods Died

Do you know where the gods went?
Did they hide deep in the earth somewhere?
Do you remember the very day;
When the temples echoed with empty prayers?
There was no one greater than them.
No reason for them to hide.
If this is true then it seems to me;
The gods must have died.

Tell me who slew Zeus,
And did the people cry?
Where they sad to see them go?
The day that all gods died.

I wonder if I might;
Who rules the dead these days?
If Osiris is trapped,
And the dead got tired of Hades.
Khnum controlled the source of the Nile.
He flows with the river no more.
These days the thunder crashes;
Without the help of Thor.
Tell me who was the great archer?
Whose arrow didn't miss.
Instead flew straight and true,
To pierce the heart of Artimis.
For someone other than Apollo;
Would pull the sun one day.
And the north wind picked up Boreas,
And took him far away.
Aphrodite and Venus
Lived in the sky above.
Freyia and Hathor,
They all died of love.
But what's immortal cannot die.
Did one day the people not believe?
Say there's no such thing as you,
And force the gods to leave.

In a hungry dream;
Where the cornstalk grew.
Was the last time anyone;
Saw or heard Selu.
I think maybe Grandfather knew,
Of the coming of his day.
Did they hide, or did they leave,
Or simply fade away?
Do you know where the gods went?
Did they hide deep in the earth somewhere?
Do you remember the very day;
When the temples echoed with empty prayers?
There was no one greater than them.
No reason for them to hide.
If this is true then it seems to me;
The gods must have died.

So tell me who slew Zeus,
And did the people cry?
Were they sad to see them go?
The day that all gods died.

I wonder where the gods went.
